Old Bayan Barbados. Old Bayan rum, made from Caribbean molasses on Barbados by the Foursquare distillery, owned by Richard Seale, who's family has experience in making rum dating back to the 1820's. No sugar, no caramel, zero additives is his approach to a honest, strong but fine Caribbean rum. The day before filling this 8 year old rum in the barrels for the 3 months voyage, they still contained biodynamic wine from the Loire area, so the aftertaste of this old Bayan has an amazingly spicy and unique character, like the island itself...
